EXCERPT FROM THE REVIEW OF PANDORA’S KITCHEN
In Bob Dylan’s book, The Philosophy of Modern Song, he states that Elvis Costello is one of those guys “whose fans fall somewhere between the two poles of passion and precision.” I don’t know if Ron Koertge is an Elvis Costello fan, but in Pandora’s Kitchen, passion and precision are not poles apart, but instead reside neatly within many of its poems.
